The Center for Asian Languages and Cultures at the 51Çॠpromotes intercultural global learning on campus related to Central, East, Southeast, and South Asian languages and cultures. CALC works to
- Promote faculty, staff, and student exchange between UCA and our university partners in Cambodia, India, Japan, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, and Vietnam
- Support the Japanese and Chinese Language programs and the Asian Studies program at the 51ÇàÂ¥ by collaborating with these programs to support co-curricular cultural programming for UCA students and the local community
- Support UCA’s Arkansas Chinese Heritage Project in order to preserve the more than 150 year history of Chinese communities in Arkansas
- Offer cultural programming to highlight the history, cultures, and languages of Asian communities to Arkansas
