Stella (Hall) Cash ’64 was named the 2019 recipient of the Marjorie Hulsizer Copher Award, the highest honor bestowed to a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Dr. Woodrow Cummins ’68, ’71 was inducted into the UCA Sports Hall of Fame. He was a three-year letterman in football for the Bears and helped the team win two Arkansas Intercollegiate Conference (AIC) titles.

James “Jim” Tarkington ’68 was inducted into the UCA Sports Hall of Fame. He was a three-year letter winner in football and four-year letter winner in track and field.

Richard McCauley was inducted into the UCA Sports Hall of Fame. He was a four-year letterman in football and two-time first-team All-AIC selection who won the L.B. Jackman Award in 1969.

Dennis DeBusk ’72 received the 13th annual Buddy Harding Award, which is presented to a UCA alumnus for Arkansas high school coaching excellence.

John Hutchcraft ’76 has been appointed to the Arkansas Auctioneers Licensing Board by Gov. Asa Hutchinson. The appointment expires April 15, 2023.

Dr. Twala (Hodge) Maresh ’82, ’98, ’02, UCA senior clinical instructor, was awarded the 2019 Arkansas Physical Therapy Association Distinguished Service Award at the fifth annual OPTimize Conference.

Dr. John Lipscomb ’84, ’86 is the new senior toxicologist at the Center for Toxicology and Environmental Health in North Little Rock.

Robert Passwaters ’84 was appointed by Gov. Asa Hutchinson to the Arkansas Governor’s Commission on People with Disabilities.

Roberta “Robbi” (DeWeese) Davis ’85, president of The Robbi Davis Agency Inc., was featured on Little Rock Soiree’s Best Insurance Agents 2019 list.

Melynda (Hansford) Knapp ’85, ’90 was chosen as Educator of the Year by the Morrilton Area Chamber of Commerce in
November 2019.

Lori (Hawkins) Case Melton ’85 has been hired as the senior vice president of business development at First Community Bank.

Curtis Barnett ’86 has been appointed by Gov. Asa Hutchinson to the 51��¥ Board of Trustees. The appointment began Jan. 15, 2020.

Aron “Carl” Harris ’86 was inducted into the UCA Sports Hall of Fame. He was a two-time All-Arkansas Intercollegiate Conference defensive lineman who holds the school record for single-season tackles for loss and also held the career mark for more than 30 years. Harris is also tied for fifth in career sacks at UCA.

Leslie (Abbott) Boone ’87 was selected to serve on the National Board of Trustees for the National Organization of Parents of Murdered Children Inc.

Carrie “Allison” Nicholas ’87 has been appointed by Gov. Asa Hutchinson to be a member of the State Computer Science and Cybersecurity Task Force.

Laura Abbott ’88, ’96 was reappointed by Gov. Asa Hutchinson to the Arkansas Commission on Child Abuse, Rape and Domestic Violence.

Tyrone Scott ’89 received the Secretary of Defense Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) Medal on Feb. 26, 2019, for his 2018 deployment. Additionally, he earned the third quarter Civilian of the Quarter Award on Feb. 27, 2019, for the same tour.

Lisa (Gunderman) Willenberg ’89 was selected as chancellor of the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton. Her term began Nov. 1, 2019.

Byron Bailey was inducted into the UCA Sports Hall of Fame. He was a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) All-American in track and field in 1986
and 1987.
