Dr. George-Paschal has taught at the 51¥ (UCA) since 1993 and holds the rank of Professor and Research Coordinator. She earned her doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman’s University in 2001. Her areas of clinical expertise include Adult Physical Disabilities and Assistive Technology. Dr. Paschal holds board certification in Assistive Technology through the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America.

Community Engagement

Dr. Paschal serves as a member of the Faulkner County Juvenile Drug Court (FCJDC) team. She developed and oversees a theory-based service-learning mentoring club for FCJDC adolescents named ‘kai”. The Greek name kai means – ‘in the middle/ as in the story is not over”. Based on the theory of Occupational Adaptation, kai helps adolescents focus on pursuing goals aimed to promote adolescents’ engagement in positive ‘occupation-based’ activities.

Research Interests

Dr. George-Paschal’s research interests include instrument development based on the Theory of Occupational Therapy, the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, and Community-Based Practice.
