Find Your 300 Minutes: Building Your Foundation 🐻

Your first year at 51¥ is about more than passing classes. It’s about figuring out how you learn, how you manage your time, and what habits help you succeed.

Bear Life is here to help you build that foundation—one week at a time.

⏱️ Your Challenge: Find 300 Minutes

Each week, Bear Life challenges you to find and track at least 300 minutes (5 hours) of study time at designated locations across campus.

Five hours might sound like a lot at first, but you don’t have to find all 300 minutes at once.

Have 15–40 minutes between classes? Use it.

Have 30 minutes before an event or meeting? Grab your notes and get some studying done.

Finished class early? Find a study spot instead of heading back to your room.

Those smaller blocks of time add up quickly.

Think of it as the Find Your 300 Challenge. Experiment with different times, places, and study strategies until you discover a routine that works for you.

300 minutes is your starting point. The real goal is building the habit.

📍 Find Your Study Spot

You have plenty of places across campus where you can log your official Bear Life Study Minutes. Remember to check in when you begin and check out when you’re finished so your minutes are recorded.

📱 Check Your Progress

One of the best parts of tracking your minutes is being able to see the progress you’re making.

Check your Study Minutes throughout the week and ask yourself:

How close am I to 300?

If you’re already there, great! Keep going.

If you’re not there yet, you still have time to find another 20, 30, or 60 minutes.

Tracking your time helps you become more aware of your study habits and gives you the information you need to make choices about your week. You’re not just tracking minutes, you’re learning how to hold yourself accountable and take ownership of your academic success.

🐻 Find It. Track It. Build the Habit.

Your schedule won’t look exactly like anyone else’s—and it doesn’t need to.

Try studying between classes. Find your favorite campus study spot. Study with a friend. Visit TASC. Use an hour before an evening activity. Discover when and where you do your best work.

Find your 300. Build your routine. Own your success.

That’s your foundation. And Bear Life will help you build from there.
